The Kolcraft Contours Options 3 Wheeler Stroller II Vs. The Baby Jogger 2011 City Mini Single Stroller.

If you’re looking for an everyday, all around town stroller, you may be comparing the Kolcraft Contours Options 3 and the Baby Jogger City Mini. These two three wheeled strollers offer a front swivel wheel for quick and agile maneuverability, as well as a locking option for long distance strolling. Both designs also include a large multi-position canopy with peek in windows, under seat storage baskets, grab bars (aka mounting bracket), padded reclining seats with 5-point child safety harness’s, and both have a weight capacity of 50 pounds.
When comparing these two strollers, the first thing I noticed is the difference in price. The Baby Jogger City Mini is $60.00 dollars more, with a list price of $239.99, while the list price for the Kolcraft was significantly less at $179.99. So, why does the Baby Jogger cost more? It could be the front wheel suspension, or maybe the patented quick fold-design. It also includes a rear parking brake, extra seat back storage, a fold strap to keep the stroller folded while transporting, and it weighs almost 10 pounds less. Could that be enough to rack up the price tag? While the Kolcraft may not have the added suspension system, it does have 12-inch rear tires, and with the extra 10 pounds of weight you get a parent console with cup holders and storage, a pivoting child’s tray with cup holder, and a removable seat that easily reverses to face you.
It’s a tough decision. The Kolcraft Contours Options 3 Wheeler Stroller may weigh more, but you do get a few extra’s, as well as the reverse option. The Baby Jogger City Mini may cost more, but you get the added front suspension for a smooth ride, as well as the super handy one-step fold. If you plan on using it mainly around town, or at the mall, the Baby Jogger City Mini is smaller, and easier to maneuver, but if you plan on doing a lot of sidewalk hopping, the Kolcraft has bigger rear tires giving you more clearance when you need it.
Either way you go, both strollers are excellent quality, and the customer feedback on both is great! Good Luck!
